About this speaker
Beth Ali holds a B.S., M.Ed., and Ed.S. from Kennesaw State University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Education. Her connection to the military community is deeply personal; she is from a military family, with her brother having served 20 years in the Air Force and being a well-known Veteran advocate online, particularly on LinkedIn. Before Fort McPherson in Georgia closed, she also taught military students on base. With 9 years of experience teaching 8th-12th grade, she developed expertise in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and soft skills, observing firsthand their significant impact on behavior and success. Informed by her personal connection to the veteran community, her focus is these schools in the classroom and on the critical need of these skills for veterans transitioning to civilian life. She highlights why developing competencies such as self-awareness, communication, and adaptability is essential for navigating the distinct cultural and emotional landscape of the civilian workplace, empowering veterans for long-term career success and well-being.
